Hi folks, hope you are all feeling okay. Can anyone tell me if the have been on holiday to the Carribean or anywhere where you needed injections whilst on prednisolone, methotrexate and hydroxochloriquine.

Looks as if it could be a real problem so would really welcome your advices.

Thanks friends.

Hi,

I haven't been to the Caribbean but had planned a trip to Mauritius several years ago. At the time I was on prednisolone, methotrexate and Enbrel but wasn't allowed two of the jabs I would have needed on the combination of meds I was on. I think, but could be wrong, it was typhoid and yellow fever. We cancelled our holiday and stayed in Europe. I was also very concerned at what might happen if I'd been ill there (it was bad enough in Cyprus!)

Things could have changed now and the Caribbean could be very different. I'm sure someone will be able to help!

My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson

Thank you very much for your reply! You have to ask yourself if it is really worth the risk, and I guess it will be a no 😒

Hi

The best person to ask would be your specialist nurse, if you haven't got one (some members don't), I would ring your consultants secretary up and ask her to ask him/her. Failing that you could ask to speak to your GP, or the NRAS helpline might beable to help.

Take Care
